Job Description Job Description Position Overview The School
Nurse serves as a key member of the School's student support team,
promoting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all
students. The Nurse provides high-quality care, health education,
and preventive services to ensure a safe and healthy school
environment where every student can thrive academically and
personally. Responsibilities Student Health and Wellness Provide
direct nursing care to students, including first aid, emergency
care, and management of chronic conditions. Administer medications
and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school
policies. Maintain accurate, confidential student health records
and documentation. Develop and implement individualized health
plans for students with specific medical needs. Safety and
Compliance Monitor immunization and health screening compliance in
accordance with NJ Department of Health requirements. Respond to
and manage communicable disease outbreaks following district and
state protocols. Ensure the school environment adheres to health
and safety regulations and best practices. Collaboration and
Communication Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and
healthcare providers to coordinate care and share information
appropriately. Participate on student support, I&RS, and crisis
response teams. Provide professional development and support for
staff related to student health and safety. Qualifications NJ
School Nurse Certification (or eligibility to obtain). Prior
experience in school health or pediatric nursing preferred. Strong
communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
