Computational Linguist III, German or Turkish Location : Fully
Remote Contract : 8-Months, Possibility for Extension/Conversion
Pay Rate : $60/hr, W2 Benefits : Medical, Dental, Vision and Weekly
Pay We are seeking a Linguist III to support out clients advanced
AI and language technology initiatives. This role involves
conducting linguistic analysis on large datasets, evaluating AI
model outputs, and contributing to multilingual research and
annotation guideline development. The ideal candidate will
collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, and
cross-functional teams to improve language model quality and ensure
responsible AI practices. Key Responsibilities: Perform linguistic
analysis and error evaluation on large AI-generated datasets.
Identify common error patterns and provide actionable insights to
improve model performance. Develop and refine annotation and
translation guidelines for AI-related projects. Conduct typological
and sociolinguistic research across multiple languages. Analyze
language use in responsible AI contexts (e.g., toxic language, bias
detection). Review linguistic literature related to NLP and
summarize research findings. Evaluate vendor deliverables, identify
quality issues, and provide feedback. Collaborate with native
speakers and communicate findings to engineering and research
teams. Qualifications: Graduate degree in Linguistics or a closely
related field (PhD preferred). Near-native proficiency in German or
Turkish , with CEFR C1 proficiency in the other language . Perform
linguistic error analysis of machine translations and identifying
the most frequent and severe error categories Strong skills in
pattern recognition, cross-functional communication, and
multitasking Strong knowledge of linguistic disciplines such as
syntax, morphology, sociolinguistics, typology, phonology,
pragmatics, and corpus linguistics. Proficiency in Python and
ability to query databases using SQL . Strong written and verbal
communication skills in professional and research contexts. Ability
to work independently, manage priorities, and handle complex
analytical tasks. Experience applying basic Natural Language
Processing (NLP) techniques. Experience collaborating with machine
learning engineers, NLP researchers, or data scientists.
Familiarity with language classification standards and multilingual
research environments. Knowledge of additional or low-resource
languages is a plus. Pursuant to the California Fair Chance Act,
