• Repairs and installations in the water transmission and distribution system. Installs, maintains, repairs water mains, sewer mains, service lines, fire hydrants, valves, water meters and catch basins.
• Knows and abides by the company's safety policy and procedures
• Uses and maintains all work equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations
• Use accepted practices and methods of water and wastewater facilities and appurtenances installation or replacement and their proper operation, maintenance, and repair
• Keep accurate daily records of work performed, time worked, and materials used
• Must be able to respond to emergencies after hours, and to participate in after-hours on call duty rotation.QualificationsEducation / Experience / Background
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid New Jersey State Driver's License
  • Is required to have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to obtain within six (6) months after the initial probationary period has ended.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
    • Must be able to operate mobile equipment such as, but not limited to, backhoes, dump trucks, utility trucks, jack hammers, belt press, air compressors and power-driven equipment.
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
    • Good mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate volumes and pressures
    • Requires good eye/hand/foot coordination, strength, endurance, and agility to permit the individual to perform strenuous tasks safely under adverse conditions for prolonged periodsAdditional InformationVeolia's comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental and vision insurance.
