We are looking for an Underwriting Hub Leader Natural Resources Americas (m/f/d). This role can be based in our Chicago, Houston or New York locations. Your Team Allianz Commercial has a long-standing tradition of supporting the natural resources industry. Our team has many years of practical experience in leading the largest natural resources projects across the globe. The Impact You Will Have Reporting to the Global Head of Natural Resources you will develop and execute the Natural Resource (NR) Americas Hub strategy and proactively support the development of the global strategy. Leading the Natural Resources Americas Hub Underwriting team, you will manage the portfolio of Power and Renewables to ensure successful achievement of targets. Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Lead and manage the regional team, including direct reports and management of functional reports.
• Manage the cost center budget within plan.
• Develop and execute Natural Resources HUB Underwriting strategy and support the development of the global Natural Resources strategy.
• Steer and control the Natural Resources Hub Americas portfolio to drive achievement of financial targets (e.g. full combined ratio)
• Referral / case Underwriting of key clients as required.
• Proactively support development and implementation of new and modified products
• Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)
• Positively represent Allianz Commercial internally within the Allianz Group, and externally to the market What You'll Bring to the Role
  • Significant experience in Underwriting management position in the Natural Resources line of business
  • Expert understanding of regional / local Natural Resources insurance markets, competitor landscape and legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Well recognized relationship building with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market.
  • Significant experience in leadership and development of teams internationally and within complex global matrix environments
  • Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to Natural Resources
  • Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally. Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story.
  • Ability to persuade and motivate others to act, without executive authority.
  • Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire.
  • Multi-lingual language skills, including French and/or German would be advantageous. The annualized base pay range for this role is $147,778 to $323,007. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package.
