We all share a responsibility to advance the company's mission by excelling at our three corporate priorities - safety of our people and the public, operational excellence in all that we do, and ensuring the best possible customer experience.Core ResponsibilitiesThis is a technical role with functional responsibility to apply your network technology knowledge, skills, and foundational expertise to support our corporate, data centers, and control center networks.You will collaborate with and learn from an experienced network engineer who will provide guidance, feedback, and mentoring on your tasks and projects. You will follow best practices and standards established by the senior network engineer and report to them on your progress and challenges.You will work with technical staff to monitor, troubleshoot and support all facets of the network technologies including LAN and WAN networking, Cisco Wireless network, Cisco UCS and Nutanix datacenters, departmental VLANs, encompassing 100+ sites within NYC, Westchester and Orange and RocklandMonitor and address infrastructure alerts, track incidents and support timely problem resolution; adhere to operating policy and proceduresParticipate in the device upgrades, replacements, and support network technologiesSupport network management, monitor tool maintenance and assist with use case automationMust be flexible and able to work off-hours as required to support deployments, resolve production problems or respond to corporate emergenciesPerform other related tasks and assignments as requiredRequired Education/ExperienceBachelor's Degree Preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering and (2) years of IT experience orAssociate's Degree Preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering and (4) years of IT experience orHigh School Diploma/GED and (5) years of IT experiencePreferred Education/ExperienceBachelor's Degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degreeAssociate's Degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, or applicable degreeRelevant Work ExperienceDemonstrated knowledge of network protocols, architectures, and security principlesExperience with Cisco IOS based routers, switches, Wireless APsFamiliarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools and software; proficiency in network devices configuration and administrationKnowledge in Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI)Knowledge of network automation tools and scripting, Powershell, Java, XML, Git, Azure DevOpsSkills & AbilityExcellent collaboration and team building skillsWell organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignmentsDemonstrated written communication skillsLicenses & CertificationsDriver's License RequiredOther: CCNA, CCNP highly desirablePhysical DemandsAbility to push, pull, and lift up to 40 poundsSit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workdayPossess manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for the duration of the workdayOther Physical DemandsMust be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.Must be able to participate in the Company's emergency management processes and storm plans as required.Technical Difficulty StatementFor technical issues, please contact us at careerconnect@coned.comEqual Opportunity EmployerConsolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc.
