exceptionally self-motivated, intellectually curious, and
entrepreneurially minded Director, In Vivo Research with deep
expertise in translational research for Insmed’s New Jersey
Research Team to help us expand what’s possible for patients with
serious and rare diseases. Reporting to the Senior Director of
Research, you will lead rodent disease model development and the
design and execution of preclinical in vivo studies and will
collaborate closely with peers across the research organization to
drive Insmed’s pipeline programs from discovery towards IND. What
You'll Do: In this role, you’ll provide strategic leadership for
the in vivo pharmacology function to enable Insmed’s early-stage
research pipeline and advance innovative therapies to the clinic.
You’ll also: Identify, validate, and implement appropriate PK/PD
models to support candidate selection Develop and execute in vivo
pharmacology strategies for efficacy, PK/PD, biodistribution, and
safety evaluations in rodents Contribute to the strategic vision
for PK/PD and in vivo pharmacology to support portfolio and
candidate selection decisions across early research programs Lead,
develop, and build a team of in vivo scientists Partner closely
with cross-functional teams to support in vivo pharmacology needs
and integrate with toxicology and translational strategies Review,
interpret, and communicate complex data to internal stakeholders
and senior leadership Author and review protocols, electronic
notebook entries, technical reports, and scientific publications
Provide oversight and scientific input for pharmacology studies
conducted by CROs and academic partners Contribute to external
scientific presence, including authorship and review of
publications, abstracts, and presentations, as appropriate Ensure
compliance and best practice related to IACUC protocols and all
relevant regulatory and ethical standards for animal research Who
You Are: Ph.D. degree in Life sciences discipline with deep in vivo
pharmacology background and 10 years of industry experience,
including leadership responsibility Demonstrated success leading in
vivo pharmacology strategy for both small molecule entities and
biologics Extensive experience proposing, developing, establishing,
and evaluating fit-for-purpose in vivo modelsincluding but not
limited to genetically modified mouse strains and disease models in
the immunology, respiratory, and CNS space Strong understanding of
PK/PD principles and translational considerations that inform
candidate selection and program progression Expert hands-on
knowledge in standard dosing and fluid collection techniques and
conducting survival surgery in rodents Strong familiarity with
IACUC protocols and compliance with ethical and regulatory
standards for animal research Demonstrated experience managing
projects and leading teams in the context of multiple competing
priorities and tight deadlines Experience collaborating and
communicating effectively to optimally support functional and
cross-functional operations Strategic thinker with an
entrepreneurial mindset, proactive problem-solving attitude and
strong willingness to take on new challenges High level of
organization with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy
and conciseness Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced research
environment and is comfortable making decisions with evolving data
Nice to have (but not required): Hands-on expertise in CNS/brain
delivery Where You’ll Work This role is based out of our
Bridgewater location and requires full-time, in-person presence to
support hands-on collaboration, access specialized equipment,
and/or operational needs. Travel Requirements Minimal travel
